Revealed: The direct connection between coffee and your heart | The Times of India

Dr David Kao, senior author of the study and his team published their findings in the journal Circulation: Heart Failure on February 9.

The team conducted three major studies with 1,000 U.S. adults and analyzed their data. The participants were followed for a period of 10 years.

Conclusion: In all the three studies, drinking one or more cups of caffeinated coffee a day was associated with decreased risk of heart failure.

In the first study- Framingham Heart and Cardiovascular Health studies, the risk of heart failure fell by 5%-12% per cup of coffee every day, compared with having no coffee.

In the second study- The Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities Study, the risk of heart failure was 30% lower in people who had at least 2 cups of coffee per day.
