Coronavirus symptoms: Can this traditional Chinese medicine help treat COVID-19 symptoms? Here’s what study has to say

The key ingredients in the medicine were identified with the help of rutin and hesperidin, high-pressure liquid chromatography – a technique in analytical chemistry used to separate, identify, and quantify each component in a mixture.

As per the study, the active ingredients in yinqiao powder are luteolin, eriodictyol, quercetin, and naringenin – amongst others – which help combat the deadly virus.

Scientists used wide-ranging techniques to analyze the active ingredients, targets, and possible mechanisms of Yinqiao powder in COVID-19 treatment. Some of them were “target selection and DisGeNET scoring, protein–protein interaction network construction, drug–ingredient–gene network construction, molecular docking, and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) analysis, gene tissue analysis, geneontology (GO) functional analysis, and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis.”

The authors have introduced various ways that can help Yinqiao powder treat COVID-19, of which TNF signaling pathway, Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, T-cell receptor signaling pathway, and MAPK signaling pathway are some of the potential mechanisms.
