I made too many errors, says PV Sindhu | Badminton News – Times of India

Disappointed after her straight game loss against Ratchanok Intanon 13-21, 9-21 in the quarterfinals of Thailand Open, PV Sindhu admitted that she made too many mistakes.
“I think I made a lot of unforced errors and I think that I gave away easy points. I didn’t play my best today. It wasn’t my day. I made too many errors,” Sindhu told the BWF website after her loss.
Trailing 9-12 in the first game, Sindhu made a comeback and caught up with Intanon at 13-13. After that the Indian was unable to match the pace of Intanon, who won eight straight points to pocket the first game.

In the second game, Sindhu struggled a lot and was nowhere near her best. Though she executed some of her trademark smashes, the Indian was clearly not in form.
She felt that it could have been different if she had won the first game. “Some of my lifts were going out and going out of control. I was hitting so much power sometimes. I should have controlled things a lot more. Intanon is a great player and I was prepared for that. I was responding to all her strokes, but I was making mistakes. If I had won the first game, I think things would have been comparatively different,” Sindhu told the BWF website.
On a whole, it was a forgettable outing for Sindhu as she lost in the first round last week becoming succumbing in the quarterfinals on Friday.
However, her coaches are not at all worried about Sindhu.
The world champion was in England for three months before arriving in Bangkok and that had an impact on her performance.
“There is still a lot of time before the Olympics. It takes only a few weeks of practice for Sindhu to get back to her best. We are not at all worried about her performance,” said a member of the coaching staff.
Sindhu along with Kidambi Srikanth is expected to qualify for the BWF Tour Finals to be held at the same venue.
