Exclusive: Gangubai Kathiawadi shoot left Alia Bhatt exhausted? Here’s what her co-star has to say – Times of India

After having a good time with her family over the New Year, Alia Bhatt returned to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actress resumed shoot last week. However, it was reported that on January 17, all didn’t go too well at work, as the Highway actress was rushed to the hospital due to exertion and exhaustion.

When Bombay Times reached out to her co-star Seema Pahwa who plays an interesting role in the film, the senior actress said, “I wasn’t a part of the shoot that day. However, I must say that she might have got exhausted for some other reason than the film’s shoot. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is someone who doesn’t rush you with work. He knows what he wants. He is very clear and hardly shoots one scene a day. Things have worked smoothly as far as the film’s shoot is concerned.”

She further adds, “Also, we aren’t even traveling for this project as largely the film has been shot at a set in suburban Mumbai. Almost 90 per cent of the film is done only a few songs are left.”

Though admitted to the hospital, Alia who suffered from hyperacidity and nausea, recovered and was discharged on the same day. In fact as per reports, she got back to the shoot on the very next day too.

The film which is slated for a Diwali release, stars Alia as Gangubai, who was pushed into prostitution at an early age, and later became an extremely influential pimp with gangsters as her client.
