Coronavirus Symptoms Update: Sore eyes can be a sign of COVID-19, as per study

According to the World Health Organization, conjunctivitis was added to the list of less common symptoms of COVID-19. However, a recent study published in the BMJ Open Ophthalmology reported sore eyes as the most significant ocular symptoms observed in patients.

The reports also suggested that ocular symptoms are prevalent in upto 4% to 31% of those with COVID-19 but may not be reported as they are usually not very severe or fatalistic.

Additionally, a study conducted in China found that children suffering with COVID-19 also developed ocular problems including conjunctival discharge, eye rubbing, and conjunctival congestion.
