Exclusive! Sanjay Kapoor on Javed Akhtar: He has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable – Times of India

Renowned poet-lyricist Javed Akhtar turns 76 today and wishes have been pouring in for him on social media, including one from acctor-son Farhan Akhtar, who marked the day by throwing back to a cherished memory. Besides immortalising songs with his profound lyrics, Javed saab has also written many noteworthy screenplays. Sanjay Kapoor and Tabu-starrer ‘Prem’, a reincarnation story, was also his brainchild. On the legend’s birthday today, ETimes spoke to Sanjay who made his acting debut with the film.

Expressing his gratitude for being fortunate enough to have worked with him, Sanjay gushed, “Javed Akhtar is the best writer that I have witnessed in my life since I started watching films. He has only a great sense of humour but is also very knowledgeable about most topics under the sun”.

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Javed saab had shared that he will not be celebrating his birthday this year due to the pandemic as he is not very keen on celebrating the day. Also, actress-wife Shabana Azmi, who usually throws a bash for him on his birthdays, is in London for the shoot of her international project.
