The star shared a couple of photos of himself hugging Rhea and sharing a laugh together. However, it was his caption, “My Girl” that seemed to have lead to a wave of nasty comments. Shortly after sharing the photos, he not only deleted the post, but even turned off his comments and released an apology.
In his statement, Rajiv said, “I seem to have created unnecessary trouble with my irresponsible choice of words on a post. Rhea is a dear old friend, and I’m happy to meet her again and I wish her well.”
The photos that have since gone viral on social media, are among the first we have seen of the actress at a social gathering.
Rhea had a turbulent 2020 since the death of her boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput, on June 14. Since her release from jail for her alleged involvement in a drugs case, the actress has been reporting her attendance at the Bandra police station, as a part of her bail agreement.
Rhea was in the news this week when the Bombay high court reserved its verdict on the petition filed by Sushant’s sisters, Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh, seeking to quash an FIR against them by the actress for alleged forgery and fabrication of a medical prescription for the late actor.
“Whatever the case be, from Sushant Singh Rajput’s face one could make out that he was innocent and sober and a good human being,” Justice Shinde said.
“Everybody liked him, especially in that MS Dhoni film,” he added.
The CBI has still not disclosed its findings in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The agency maintained that they are looking at the matter from every angle and are even using the latest available technology to help them close the case.
