Exclusive! Avika Gor controversy in Salman Khan’s ‘Antim’: “She had never signed, plus my daughter Saiee isn’t in,” says director Mahesh Manjrekar – Times of India

Since yesterday morning, the Internet has been multiplying reports that ‘Balika Vadhuactress Avika Gor has been replaced by ‘Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke’ actress Mahima Makwana as one of the leads in Salman Khan‘s upcoming film ‘Antim…The Final Truth’. This set tongues wagging not only in the film but the TV industry too.

ETimes now gets you the truth from the horse’s mouth. The film’s director Mahesh Manjrekar tells us, “Avika was never signed for ‘Antim: The Final Truth’. At least 20 girls were tested for that role and I had to chose only one who would fit the bill perfectly. Mahima suited the best.” We took the opportunity to ask Manjrekar about the other heroine in the film which the recent reports were quite emphatically saying is Manjrekar’s daughter Saiee. Manjrekar clarified, “Saiee is not in the film. The second girl in the film will soon be announced.”

So far, the buzz was that Avika was on board; reportedly she was very excited about the role. When contacted, however Avika chose to not talk about this. So that’s that! Hope this sets the record straight. ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ also stars Aayush Sharma in a pivotal role.
