Chandan took to his Facebook handle to share Arya, one a close friend, was a big fan of movies and they used to watch films directed by Woody Allen, Jean-Luc Godard, Francois Truffaut, Mrinal Sen, Ritwik Ghatak and the likes.
Chandan’s emotional long note read: “We were both aquarians and born a day apart and that became our focal point of friendship and both claimed we are typical aquarians which is dreamers , I met her in 2009 , she lived closeby , many a evenings and afternoons we chilled watching films (mostly woody allen, godard and truffaut and the likes and binged on Mrinal Sen and the Ghataks , she loved that side of me ) she gave me so many free passes and forced me to come along to so many events and gigs because she felt out of place and wanted me to accompany her as if i was any better , discussing classical music and watching people from a corner , she was a great cook and fed me and so many of us with her food , we were all trying to make it , a benevolent soul and daughter of a very famous father , Pt Nikhil Banerjee . She acted in LSD and Dirty Picture , we were thick friends and we were regular till 2015 and then she vanished , people just vanish , she kept to herself in kolkata , about five days back i thought of her and tried to reach out but couldn’t, last night she was found dead. Arya Banerjee i will miss you . I am jolted . Be happy and peaceful wherever you are. Being in films is a lonely journey …. RIP Bhalo Theko.” (sic).
