Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala reacts to his past drug addiction: It’s a disease he has to fight every single day – Times of India


Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala Dutt is quite active on social media. She is often seen sharing stunning pictures of herself on Instagram. Today, she conducted an ‘Ask Me’ session on her Instagram handle where she addressed her father Sanjay’s past drug addiction.

In her reply, Trishala wrote that it is a disease that her father has to fight every single day. A fan asked her, “Since you are a psychologist, what’s your opinion on your father’s past drug addiction?”

Trishala replied, “First it’s important to note that addiction is a chronic disease characterised by drug seeking and use that compulsive, or difficult to control, despite harmful consequences.” She further added, “The initial decision to take drugs is voluntary for most people, but repeated drug use can lead to brain changes that challenge an addicted person’s self-control and interfere with their ability to resist intense urges to take drugs.” Have a look:

The star kid also said that addiction is nothing to be ashamed of. She wrote, “When it comes to my father’s past drug use, he will always be in recovery. It’s a disease he has to fight every.single.day. Even though he’s not using anymore. I’m proud of my father for admitting he had a problem, taking initiative and seeking help for it. There is nothing, not a damn thing, to be ashamed about.”

The actor has been quite vocal about his drug addiction. Even director Rajkumar Hirani made a film on his life titled ‘Sanju’ which showcased his bad phase. Ranbir Kapoor played the role of Sanju in the film.
